Our team of Community Health Advocates (CHAs) are also trained Navigators with the Health Insurance Marketplace. A Navigator is an individual who is federally trained, certified, and able to help consumers as they look for health coverage options through the Marketplace. This may include helping individuals complete the Marketplace eligibility and enrollment process. Navigators provide information and services in a fair, accurate, and impartial manner.
This service is free. As Navigators, we can help you:
- Understand insurance terms like, premium, deductibles, copays, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket maximums.
- View your available health insurance options.
- Create or update an account on www.healthcare.gov.
- Enroll in a qualified health plan.
- Navigate post enrollment situations.

Our team can answer questions, help you enroll, and assist with health insurance navigation (like finding a doctor, or comparing plans) over the phone, via virtual meeting platforms, or in-person.
If a person is not eligible for these health insurance programs, a HCSEF CHA can help link them with affordable medical care, screenings, and medicine without insurance.
